The function of the air compressor filter element is to enter the oil-containing compressed air generated by the main engine into the cooler, mechanically separate into the oil and gas filter element for filtration, intercept and polymerize the oil mist in the gas, and form oil droplets concentrated at the bottom of the filter element through the return pipe to the compressor lubrication system, so that the compressor discharge more pure and high-quality compressed air; Simply put, it is a device that removes solid dust, oil and gas particles and liquid substances in compressed air.

The oil and gas separation filter element is the key component that determines the quality of the compressed air discharged by the oil injection screw compressor. Under the correct installation and good maintenance, the quality of compressed air and the service life of the filter element can be ensured.

The air compressed from the main head of the screw compressor carries oil droplets of different sizes, and the large oil droplets are easily separated by the oil and gas separation tank, while the small oil droplets (suspended) must be filtered by the micron glass fiber filter of the oil and gas separation filter. The correct selection of the diameter and thickness of the glass fiber is an important factor to ensure the filtration effect. After the oil mist is intercepted, diffused and polymerized by the filter material, the small oil droplets are quickly polymerized into large oil droplets, which pass through the filter layer under the action of pneumatics and gravity and settle at the bottom of the filter element. These oils are continuously returned to the lubrication system through the return pipe inlet in the bottom recess of the filter element, so that the compressor can discharge relatively pure and high-quality compressed air.

When the oil consumption of the air compressor is greatly increased, check whether the oil filter and pipeline, return pipe, etc. are blocked and cleaned, and the oil consumption is still very large, the general oil and gas separator has been deteriorated and needs to be replaced in time; When the pressure difference between the two ends of the oil and gas separation filter reaches 0.15MPA, it should be replaced. When the pressure difference is 0, it indicates that the filter element is faulty or the air flow has been short-circuited, and the filter element should be replaced at this time.

When installing the return pipe, ensure that the pipe is inserted into the bottom of the filter element. When replacing the oil and gas separator, pay attention to electrostatic release, and connect the inner metal mesh with the oil drum shell. You can nail about 5 staples on each of the upper and lower pads, and fix them thoroughly to prevent static accumulation from triggering explosions, and prevent unclean products from falling into the oil drum, so as not to affect the operation of the compressor.
